Certified Restaurant Manager (CRM)
(formal replacement of FMP®)

The Foodservice Management Professional® credentialing program is retired.

For years, the Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) certification recognized exceptional managers and supervisors who have achieved a high level of knowledge, experience and professionalism in our industry. The ServSuccess Certified Restaurant Manager certification is now the official professional certification offered to enable students to enhance their career opportunities and boost their earning potential. This certification is designed specifically for working industry professionals and provides a reliable way to confirm the experience necessary for a role as manager. The National Restaurant Association encourages students to consider getting the ServSuccess CRM certification along with their ServSafe Manager certification.

Much like the FMP before it, the Certified Restaurant Manager certification signifies a restaurant manager’s mastery of the skills, knowledge and competencies required of industry professionals at their career stage. Becoming a Certified Restaurant Manager demonstrates to industry employers that students are qualified to successfully drive their business.

The National Restaurant Association is committed to ongoing support of the validity and credibility of professional certifications for those industry professionals who have earned it. Certifications provide value as a career achievement. As restaurant manager job candidates, students will be able to demonstrate that they have earned the CRM from the National Restaurant Association and can be trusted to run the operation effectively.
