Foodservice Management Professional® (FMP®)

The Foodservice Management Professional® credentialing program is being retired

For years, the Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) certification has recognized exceptional managers and supervisors who have achieved a high level of knowledge, experience and professionalism in our industry.

As of May 15, 2019, with the new ServSuccess Certified Restaurant Manager professional certification becoming available, the National Restaurant Association applications for the FMP credential are no longer available.

Starting July 1, 2019, the National Restaurant Association Solutions team will no longer accept applications for the FMP certification. If you are interested in becoming certified as a restaurant manager to enhance your career and boost your earning potential, we encourage you to consider the new ServSuccess certification instead.

Much like the FMP before it, the Certified Restaurant Manager credential signifies a restaurant manager’s mastery of the skills, knowledge and competencies required of industry professionals at their career stage. Becoming a Certified Restaurant Manager demonstrates to industry employers that you are qualified to successfully drive their business.

The National Restaurant Association is committed to ongoing support of the validity and credibility of the Foodservice Management Professional certification for those industry professionals who have earned it. The certification does not expire and will maintain its value as a career achievement. Employers will still be able to come to the National Restaurant Association website to validate that job candidates have earned the credential.
